One hundred and seventy years on, the Congregational Christian Church at Sapapalii, Savaii, the village where the Rev John Williams of the London Missionary Society missionary first landed in Samoa in 1830 appears vibrant despite acute poverty, endemic to Christian churches throughout the Pacific due to declining congregations.
