A young man heads out into the lagoon with many others at low tide to gather shellfish. The gathering of traditional seafood on the Ikiribati capital is increasingly challenging due to the dense population of the island, people continue to migrate from the outer islands mainly looking for cash income; and the food source is diminished because the reef habitat is constantly damaged in the making of coral rock seawalls built to protect peoples homes from high tides and storm surge.
