Warning signs close to the Cairn Curran reservoir. The dam and reservoir were constructed in the 1950s to aid with domestic irrigation and the creation of leisure activities, such as water-skiing and windsurfing. However, a 15 year drought in the state of Victoria, means the reservoir usually holds only between 5 and 15 percent of its intended capacity.
