Bustling activity follows the Taumafakava, the ceremony when HM Siaosi George Tupou V heads the Royal Kava circle for the first time in the presence of the nobility and their chiefs, and via television, all of Tonga. The ha'amo, or gifts of pigs, cows and 10,000 foodbaskets that have been presented in the 10 days prior to mark this ascendence, is redistributed to the people and organisations across Tonga where representatives of the Royal family deem it go.
