1000 pallbearers, ex-students of Tupou College and men drawn from villages across Tongatapu, carry the 4 metre tall catafalque of the deceased Tongan King, as it journeyed under the charge of Lauaki the Royal undertaker, from the palace to Mala'e Kula, the Royal tombs. School girls from Salote College line the route sitting on precious Tapa gifted and laid on the road by villages and estates for the cortege to pass over.
