| Boys play around bags of coconuts, bunches of bananas and a crate of crabs that have been gathered by Vaitupu people and will be loaded on the ferry. The produce will be given to relations often exchanged for imported foreign and processed foods like flour sugar and rice. It may also be sold on Funafuti the nation's capital where subsistence food resources diminish as the climate changes and the population increases. |
