The newly elected (October 2004) Honorable Prime Minister Maatia Toafa from Nanumea is wearing the traditional garb of Tuvalu. The sixth PM in five years he also holds the very tough Foreign Affairs, Labour and Environment portfolios governing 10,000 people with a GDP of around A$11,000,000. An Australian journalist and educator specialising in Pacific media and journalism issues Dr Mark Hayes is a personal friend and described him recently.
